Once the gas water heater has been placed properly, the ducting system in the house must be connected to it. Use duct sealant or metal foil tape to ensure all joints are watertight. Duct tape is not recommended at this time due to its short lifespan. When connecting the intake and exhaust pipes, ensure the slant is minimally downward towards the heater.
Due to this, any moisture can drain away from the structure. Before checking for leaks, ensure the equipment has been turned off, and adequate ventilation has been provided. Before turning on your new heater for the first time, check the instructions to ensure the wiring is done properly. A hose is connected to a basement drain hole to do this.
